Adding Tools to a Site

This tutorial will show you how to use the Site Editor to add new tools to your project or course site.

Adding Tools to a Site

1. Select the Class or Project Site you want to work in.

2. Select the Site Editor tool from the SITE MANAGEMENT menu.

3. Select the Edit Tools link. MyCR will display a list of tool. Tools with a check mark have already been added to the site. Tools with empty check boxes are available to be added.

4. Check the box associated with the tool you would like to add.

5. Press the Continue button.

6. Press the Finish button.

7. The tools you have selected are immediately added to your site.

For most tools, the above steps are all you need. For the News and Web Content tools you have to enter additional information in order to activate the tool.

Once you select to add the News tool (step 4 above) and press Continue (step 5 above), you will be prompted to specify a Title and URL for your news feed.

Enter the Title as you would like it to appear in the Project/Course Tools menu, enter in the URL for the news feed, press Continue, then press Finish.

Adding the Web Content Tool

Once you select to add the Web Content tool (step 4 above) and press Continue (step 5 above), you will be prompted to specify a Title and URL for your web content.

Enter the Title as you would like it to appear in the Project/Course Tools menu, enter in the URL of the web site you would like to link to, press Continue, then press Finish.
