Navigating in MyCR
This tutorial will introduce you to some of the ways of navigating around MyCR.
Quicklinks Bar
Quicklinks to some of the project/course sites that you belong to appear along the top of MyCR.
To access any of these sites, just click on the link of the project/course site you want to enter. Doing so brings you to the home page of the project/course site.
The link for the site you are in will appear in green, all other quicklinks appear in white.
My Sites Tab
If you belong to several sites, your quicklinks bar may not be large enough to contain all of them. To see links to other sites you belong to, click on the My Sites tab.
A list of all of the project/course sites you belong to will appear. To access any of these sites, just click on its name. Doing so brings you to the site's home page.
The site you have selected will appear in the Quicklinks bar in green.
Changing your Quicklinks
To change the order of the sites in your Quicklinks bar, just click the Edit link.
This will take you to the Preferences tool (a My Workspace tool).
The names of all of your active sites are displayed in the box on the left.
To change order of the names, highlight a name, and click the up or down arrow.
When you've arranged the list the way you like, click Update Preferences.
Click on the Home link to reload the page and see the new quicklinks order.
My Workspace
At any time, you may return to your Workspace page by clicking on the My Workspace tab at the top of the page.
You can tell when you are in your Workspace because the My Workspace tab will appear white.
Tools Menu
Tool menus always appear along the left hand side of the page. The tools that appear will vary depending on what has been made available in your project/course site.
Click the link of the tool name and you'll open that tool.
Some commonly used tools are the Calendar, Announcements, Discussion Forums, Lessons, Assignments, and Tests & Quizzes.
More details on how to use specific tools will be made available in other tutorials.
